The Laboratory Technician will join the Engineering Team based in Flotta, working closely with both the Chemistry and global Service Teams. This role is focused on supporting laboratory operations and technical projects through practical, handsâon work and routine analytical testing. Primarily based in Flotta, the Laboratory Technician will assist in the preparation, execution, and documentation of laboratory analyses and experimental activities. They will also support Test Hall activities and, where required, undertake siteâbased service work at onshore and offshore client locations.

Key Responsibilities
- Support laboratory testing, analysis, and experimental studies under the guidance of senior team members.
- Assist with fluid characterisation work using established analytical tools and techniques.
- Contribute to deskâbased technical studies, data analysis, and report preparation.
- Provide support to Test Hall activities, including assisting with the installation, operation, testing, and dismantling of process test equipment.
- Assist in delivering siteâbased services at Flotta and, as experience develops, at client locations globally (onshore and offshore).
- Participate in research and development activities to support continuous improvement of laboratory methods and company capabilities.
- Help maintain lab documentation (test logs, reports, checklists) in line with internal quality requirements.
- Support with the maintenance of laboratory equipment (cleaning, basic troubleshooting, calibration checks) and keep related records.
- Follow HSE rules, including safe handling of chemicals and proper waste management and housekeeping.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing workflows, methods, and documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
- A secondary qualification in chemistry or applied sciences.
- Computer literacy with working proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures consistently.
- Readiness to work in a laboratory environment (including safe handling of chemicals and use of PPE).
Desirable
- Work experience in a laboratory setting (including internships/placements).
- Chemistry/applied science graduate (or equivalent) willing to learn and develop laboratory skills.
- Basic understanding of quality documentation or reporting (e.g., structured recording of results in Excel).
