About the Role
As a Technical Advisor within the Centre of Excellence (COE 5), you will provide advanced technical support for NOV Pressure Control Equipment and act as an escalation point for complex issues requiring deeper technical analysis, continuity, and coordination.
Working from our Forfar location, you will support internal stakeholders and external customers across NOV’s global installed base. The environment can be fast-paced and high-stakes, particularly when technical issues affect or potentially affect customer operations. Success therefore requires strong technical judgement, structured problem-solving, clear communication, and the ability to remain effective under pressure.
This is a collaborative role with individual ownership of escalated technical cases. You will work closely with subject matter experts, Technical Advisors, Technical Leaders, Product Engineering, service teams, and other specialists to progress issues through to resolution. Occasional international travel may be required.
About NOV
NOV is a global provider of technology, equipment, and services supporting energy production and industrial operations. Through its engineering, manufacturing, service, and digital capabilities, NOV helps customers improve operational performance, safety, reliability, and efficiency across drilling, completion, production, marine, industrial, and energy transition activities worldwide.
Within this environment, the Pressure Control Equipment team supports technically complex equipment with a global operational footprint, connecting field experience, technical support, service operations, and engineering expertise.
Your Impact
You will contribute to the team’s ability to provide reliable technical escalation support for Pressure Control Equipment, helping resolve complex field challenges while maintaining effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
Beyond individual technical cases, you will contribute to product reliability and performance improvement by identifying trends, providing structured technical feedback, supporting root cause analysis, and connecting field experience with Product Engineering and other technical functions.
Development & Team Environment
You will join a collaborative technical environment where knowledge sharing and day-to-day interaction are an important part of how the team operates. Onboarding will combine practical, on-the-job learning with established work instructions, internal tools, and product-specific training where appropriate.
The role provides opportunities to broaden your technical knowledge, gain exposure across NOV’s global operations, and develop through experience with complex equipment and customer challenges. Career development is not limited to a single linear path, with experience in the COE providing exposure that can support future technical and broader opportunities across NOV.
Diversity & Inclusion
At NOV, we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We value diversity in all its forms and believe that different perspectives drive innovation and success. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
