As a Field Service Engineer at Procon Engineering (part of NOV Rig Equipment), you’ll be the frontline expert delivering precision calibration, commissioning, and repair services across customer sites throughout the UK. In your role as a Field Service Engineer, you will be home based travelling to customer sites daily to undertake your work.
Working autonomously, you’ll tackle complex challenges across a range of process weighing and measurement systems—bringing critical equipment back online with accuracy and efficiency. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on problem-solving, independence, and contributing to industrial safety and performance.
Core ResponsibilitiesWhat You’ll Be Doing:
- Calibrate, commission, and troubleshoot on-site process weighing systems using F1/M1 test weights, flow meters, and force calibration rigs
- Install and commission belt weighers and boiler leak detection systems
- Calibrate instruments for temperature, pressure, pH, conductivity, and magnet strength
- Perform off-site repairs of scales and balances at Procon HQ
- Complete service reports and calibration certificates before leaving site
- Ensure compliance with all NOV/Procon HSE policies and procedures
Occasional Duties:
- Support assembly and testing at HQ as needed
- Provide weekend cover (one in every three Saturdays)
- Collaborate with or support fellow engineers on joint service jobs
- Travel and overnight stays across the UK as required
What You Bring
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (HNC preferred)
- Time-served engineer or equivalent hands-on field experience
- Strong background in service/calibration of process weighing equipment
- Comfortable working under pressure and independently
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay overnight as needed
Desirable:
- Experience in temperature calibration
- Exposure to food hygiene environments
- Knowledge of scales and systems used in silos, platforms, and industrial control
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in fault finding on weighing systems
- Familiarity with electrical diagnostics and calibration equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
