Job Description
Ready to put your engineering talent to work on industry-leading technology? NOV Wireline Intervention & Stimulation Equipment is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our global engineering team and help deliver innovative solutions across Wireline Systems, Wellhead Pressure Control Equipment, and electromechanical machinery used worldwide.
What You’ll Do
- Create innovative, customer‑centric electrical designs and solutions
- Deliver engineering analysis, testing, and validation
- Lead small‑medium design projects with support from the Principal Engineer
- Prepare cost estimates and ensure your work stays on budget
- Develop efficient, cost‑effective designs while leveraging existing components
- Produce and check drawings, manuals, reports, and technical documents
- Participate in contract reviews, internal design meetings, and customer engagements
- Support factory acceptance tests and development of test programs
- Manage engineering change processes and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate globally across departments and support field activities as needed
- Travel internationally for client meetings, commissioning, testing, and installations
Qualifications
What You Bring
- Bachelors, Bachelors with Honours or MSc Degree in Electrical (or related) Engineering
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar engineering role
- Proven ability to lead electrical design projects within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of electromechanical system design and troubleshooting
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (Desirable)
- Knowledge of:
- Energy industry operations, wireline intervention, and completion methods
- Wireline winches, masts, and associated equipment
- Preparing technical files for European regulatory compliance
Skills & Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and documents
- Familiarity with ISO 9001
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Knowledge of IEC Standards, EU Directives, CE Marking, ATEX, IECEx, Norsok
- 3D CAD proficiency
- Working knowledge of Eplan (Desirable)
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor and PLM/PDM systems (Desirable)
