Our client is a successful established business who deliver civil engineering and surfacing works. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit for a Buyer / Administrator to join their team whilst supporting site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement and sourcing of materials, plant, and tools requested from site
- Raising, tracking, and closing purchase orders
- Negotiating prices and contract rates with suppliers
- Maintaining strong working relationships with key suppliers
- Pricing bills of materials to support tender submissions
- Weekly planning and scheduling of site projects
- Hiring of equipment for sites
- Coordinating site operatives for ongoing projects
Invoicing & Financial Administration
- Approval of material invoices
- Reviewing, validating, a high volume of monthly invoices
- Subcontractor recharges for materials collected on company accounts
- Running reports from the Hub as required
General Office Support
- Stock ordering for the projects and yard
- Answering and directing incoming calls in the main office
About You
- Previous experience in construction, civils, surfacing, or plant/material buying preferred
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicating with suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams
- Commercially aware and comfortable handling high invoice volumes
- IT-literate with experience using procurement or invoice systems
- Able to work independently and prioritise a varied workload
