About The Role
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team supporting adults with learning disabilities in a residential home.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care while leading and supporting a team to help individuals live fulfilling, independent lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of Support Workers to deliver outstanding care.
- Promote person-centred support, ensuring each individual's needs, choices and goals are respected.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, personal care, medication and community access where required.
- Complete and review care plans, risk assessments and daily records.
- Support staff through mentoring, supervision and on-the-job guidance.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and health and safety policies are followed at all times.
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for the people we support.
- Take responsibility for the service in the absence of the Manager, where required.
About You
- Previous experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in a residential or supported living setting.
- Experience in a senior or leadership role is desirable.
- A caring, patient and positive approach with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lead by example and motivate others.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable; willingness to work towards further qualifications if required.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, medication administration and person-centred care.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and right to work checks, in line with safer recruitment and CQC requirements.
- Due to the location of The Leys your own transport is recommended
