About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker or Team Leader to join our team in Luton.

In this role, you will be a key part of our care team, responsible for providing top-quality care and support to our residents.

You will also supervise and mentor support staff, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.

About you

  • Experience: Minimum of two yea rs’ experience working in an adult residential setting, with individuals with Mental health illnesses or substance and alcohol misuse or learning disabilities or autism.
  • Skills: Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), effective communication and excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Qualifications: NVQ/QCF/RQF in care or equivalent experience is required.

Attributes: Flexible, adaptable and calm under pressure.

A good understanding of both mental and physical health needs, with the ability to take direction and follow detailed protocols.

  • Knowledge: Understanding of CQC and other regulatory authorities, with a commitment to upholding high standards of care.
  • Requirements: This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and right to work checks in line with safer recruitment and CQC requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and emotional support to residents, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Promote independence by assisting residents with daily living skills such as personal hygiene, laundry, meal preparation and money management.
  • Act as a key worker for individual residents, supporting them in maintaining relationships and accessing the community.
  • Implement, review and update care plans and risk assessments, ensuring clear and accurate records are maintained.
  • Supervise and support the induction of new staff members, ensuring they are up to date with mandatory training.
  • Deputise for the Home Manager as required and participate in team and resident meetings.
  • Assist in administrative tasks, including rota management and audits, to ensure the smooth running of the home.

About Us

You will join a friendly, highly skilled and enthusiastic care team at our care home in Luton, Windermere House.

Located in a residential area of Luton in Bedfordshire, Windermere House is part of Nouvita Healthcare and a 6 bed all-male residential home.

Here we will support men aged 18 and older with their mental health recovery, aiding them to live as independently as possible within the community and providing a “stepping-stone” to supported living.
