Role overview
We are looking for an experienced, reliable and practical General Labourer to support building and property development works across sites in Gloucester and the surrounding area.
This is a varied role suited to someone who is comfortable working across different stages of a construction project.
The successful candidate must be physically capable, able to work independently when required and willing to support different trades on site.
Main duties
The role will include
- General labouring duties across active building sites.
- Removing, sorting and loading building waste.
- Rip-out and light demolition works.
- Moving building materials, tools, furniture and equipment.
- Keeping work areas clean, safe and organised.
- Assisting carpenters, plasterers, decorators and other trades.
- Basic painting and decorating works.
- Landscaping and external clearance works.
- Basic property maintenance and minor repair tasks.
- Using standard hand tools and basic power tools safely.
- Completing other reasonable site duties as required.
Essential requirements
Applicants must
- Have previous experience working as a labourer on building, refurbishment or property-development projects.
- Be registered under the Construction Industry Scheme and able to provide the necessary CIS and UTR details.
- Have a full driving licence and access to their own reliable vehicle.
- Be able to travel to sites within approximately 25 miles of Gloucester.
- Be confident using basic site tools and equipment.
- Have a practical understanding of basic property maintenance work.
- Be physically capable of carrying materials, removing waste and completing demolition and clearance tasks.
- Be reliable, punctual and available to work Monday to Friday.
- Be able to follow instructions and work effectively alongside multiple trades.
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
A CSCS card would be beneficial but is not essential unless required for a particular site.
