About the Job
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Finance Business Partner (FP&A) to collaborate closely with our Sales and Marketing teams. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving financial insights and business decisions through strategic analysis and financial planning. The role involves partnering with the revenue and marketing functions leadership, ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimising resource and spend allocation, and delivering actionable recommendations.
The role and your responsibilities
- Sales and Marketing Business Partnering: Serve as a trusted advisor to Revenue and Marketing leadership, providing financial insights and strategic recommendations to drive revenue growth and cost efficiency. Support performance tracking against budgets, providing variance analysis and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Sales Commission Tracking: Oversee the tracking and management of sales commissions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with performance metrics. Develop and maintain models for commission calculations and reporting to enhance transparency and accountability.
- Cost Management and Tracking: Monitor Sales and Marketing expenses, ensuring alignment with budgets and identifying areas for cost optimization. Partner with department leads to forecast and control expenditures.
- Customer Analysis: Conduct customer-level financial analysis, assessing profitability, retention, and revenue contribution. Provide insights into customer churn and additions, feeding into ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) bridge.
- Performance Tracking and Budgeting: Assist in the preparation and tracking of budgets for Sales and Marketing, providing detailed reporting on financial performance. Collaborate in the formation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, incorporating input from key stakeholders and aligning with company objectives.
- Headcount Planning and Optimization: Partner with HR and departmental leads to plan and optimise headcount within Sales and Marketing. Analyse the financial impact of headcount changes, providing recommendations for resource allocation.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Ownership of division monthly financial reporting. Hold monthly meetings with the relevant managers to discuss key themes from the month and general financial performance. Ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required.
- Revenue Recognition and Invoicing: Monitor the invoicing process, addressing discrepancies to ensure timely and accurate billing along with ensuring revenue is recognised aligned to accounting standards, company policies and these align with contracts.
- ARR Bridge and Movements Tracking: Maintain the ARR bridge, tracking movements such as customer additions, churn, and expansions. Provide actionable insights to improve retention and identify growth opportunities.
Required Experience
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
- Proven experience in FP&A, finance business partnering, or a similar role, preferably with exposure to Sales and Marketing teams.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools, such as Excel, ERP platforms, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and CRM platforms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively partner with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with sales commission structures and tracking.
- Familiarity with SaaS business models, including ARR and customer churn metrics.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
