We are looking for a Social Media and Content Executive to play a leading role in our social media operation and support with a variety of other departmental tasks. The successful candidate’s primary focus will be on growing and enhancing our presence across our various social media platforms. This will include producing, editing and scheduling posts, monitoring inboxes and developing platform-specific strategies to help increase supporter engagement, grow audiences across key digital channels, drive traffic to club-owned platforms and support commercial and operational objectives through effective content and communications. Beyond social media, they will support with wider media, communications and marketing projects, making this the ideal role for someone looking to gain experience in a host of areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead on posting and scheduling content across the club’s core social media platforms
  • Capture social-first content at first-team training sessions, matches and other events
  • Monitor and analyse performance across social media channels
  • Devise platform-specific strategies based on the latest trends and functionalities
  • Monitor inboxes and ensure queries are responded to promptly and accurately

Other tasks

  • Support with the management of our official website, including the writing and publication of news articles and maintenance of pages
  • Support with the delivery of digital communications, including email marketing and paid social campaigns
  • Work alongside colleagues to ensure stadium poster sites are displaying the correct materials ahead of key matches and events
  • Support with the delivery of media and marketing-related commercial partnership inventory
  • Support with retail campaigns
  • Become part of the team which works closely with our Foundation to help amplify their community projects, as well as deliver the EFL’s league-wide campaigns calendar
  • Support promotional activity relating to our Education programmes, Conferencing and Events operation and Fan Engagement initiatives

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • A degree or equivalent qualification/experience in journalism, marketing, media or a related discipline
  • Excellent understanding of major social media platforms including X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Premiere Pro and Photoshop, or similar editing software
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required by the football calendar
  • Deep knowledge and passion for both football and social media
  • An eye for photography and video capture, with strong editing skills and the ability to create engaging short-form content
  • Excellent writing skills with high attention to detail
  • Confident communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Team-orientated and willing to embrace a wide variety of tasks

Desirable

  • Professional experience in football, social media or a related field
  • Experience operating professional social media accounts
  • Experience of CMS platforms and email marketing systems
  • Full UK driving licence
