Youth Support Worker

Overview

We are seeking both experienced and new Youth Support Workers to support the delivery of sessions for young people aged 10 to 19 on evenings within the Bassetlaw Youth Work Team. Evening sessions times are 6pm to 8.30pm. This is a term time only position. The posts are based at Retford Young People Centre (DN22 6EA) and Bircotes Young People Centre (DN11 8EF) and involve working directly with young people in the evening.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with young people aged 10 to 19
• Work as a team member to deliver and manage positive activities during the session to young people
• Be able to complete training including induction and level 2 Youth Work qualification (this will include some Saturday training, estimated 9 Saturday sessions, plus some evening training online and in person)
• Be able to be responsive to change during the session and work as a team to resolve any issues
• Be a positive role model to young people

Qualifications / Requirements

• Ability to commit to evening sessions 6pm–8.30pm during term time
• Willingness to undertake required training and qualification
• Capacity to work as part of a team and adapt to changing session needs

Remuneration and Terms

Hourly Rate: £12.85 – £13.52 per hour
