Elected members are at the heart of Nottinghamshire County Council. We are offering an opportunity to assist the political process by supporting Conservative Councillors in the Council’s Main Opposition Group. This varied and interesting role acts as a key interface with departmental colleagues, external partners and constituents and offers support to the Group in relation to diary management, correspondence, research, casework, and the Councillors’ ICT systems.
You will have an interest in the workings of a political organisation and local government and will possess excellent communication, research, ICT and people skills. You will need to be politically aware, proactive, self-motivated, organised and resilient in order to manage competing demands, professionally and sensitively, in a fast-moving environment. Based within the Conservative Group’s offices, as part of the wider Democratic Services team, you will respect the confidentiality of the Group’s work. An understanding of the Conservative Party’s ethos and policies would be helpful.
