Working within ICT, you’ll be helping to ensure that Nottinghamshire County Council has a robust and fit for purpose backup and shared storage environment. The Storage and Data team is split into 2 separate teams. The Data Team who are responsible for the administration and maintenance of all databases in use by Nottinghamshire County Council. The Storage Team, where this post resides, are responsible for all storage infrastructure, including the Fibre Storage Area Networking switches and fabrics, underpinning the whole of Nottinghamshire County Council’s virtual and physical server estate. This is deployed across NCC\’s two local data centres along with storage accounts deployed within the Microsoft Azure platform. The team also maintains and administers the backup environment for the entire Nottinghamshire County Council estate, both within it\’s 2 local data centres, it\’s Microsoft Azure deployment as well as a service to a number of Nottinghamshire schools. Skills, Experience Or An Interest In A network backup solution, such as Commvault. Fibre Storage Area Network Fabric, such as Brocade switching. Shared storage infrastructure, such as IBM FlashSystem and Pure Storage Flasharray. Azure Storage Accounts. Preferably experience supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure for multi-site environments, although training will be provided.
