Overview
A vacancy for a Physical Healthcare Nurse to join the Offender Health Care Group working at HMP North Sea Camp. The role is within prison healthcare, delivering care to patients in the Healthcare Centre and on units within the prison environment. Note: due to service changes, successful applicants may be employed by Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust in the future as part of a transfer process.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality nursing care to patients with physical healthcare needs in a prison setting.
- Be accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients’ care.
- Provide basic leadership to junior staff by maintaining professional standards and ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures to ensure delivery of high‑quality care.
- Provide support and supervision for junior staff and learners.
Requirements
- To work as a Primary Care Nurse within a team delivering care to patients in a prison environment.

- This post includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours (night, weekend and bank holidays).
- Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment: standard DBS £26.40 or enhanced DBS £54.40 (cost deducted over the first 2 months). The DBS Update Service is available for an annual fee of £16.
