We are looking for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic and committed team on Willows PICU at Highbury Hospital. The Willows is a 9 bedded male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit designed to safely contain patients who are acutely unwell with a variety of mental health conditions.

Responsibilities

• Work flexibly to meet the demands and needs of the service.
• Lead and support multidisciplinary team as part of ward management, including appraisals, PADs, debriefs, staff support, clinical decision making and therapeutic risk taking.
• Provide high standard care in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
• Complete audits and contribute to quality improvement.
• Supervise staff and role‑model leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years post‑qualification experience in mental health.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Strong knowledge base of an inpatient service.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Committed to providing the highest standards of care.
• Experience completing audits.

Additional Requirements

• Must be a registered mental health nurse; we are recruiting registered mental health nurses only.
• Applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. DBS application cost (£26.40 standard / £54.40 enhanced) will be deducted from salary within the first 2 months and a DBS Update Service fee of £16 per year applies.
