The Nottinghamshire Healthy Family Teams deliver the National and Local Public Health agenda for healthcare, under the supervision and direction of our Continence Nurse Advisors and Specialist Public Health Practitioners.
This post supports the Continence Nurse Advisors to complete programme and product reviews for children aged 5-19 and also will deliver expert education, support and advice around children's continence issues. The CYP Continence Team is part of the Healthy Family Team and workers will see children across Nottinghamshire County. All other duties of a Healthy Child Assistant will remain within the job description, however the main duties will be around clinic based continence support.
The team is able to work in a hybrid manner, working from home for completion of records, out and about for the clinical work, this being at the discretion of the Manager. There will be considerable travel between venues, business expenses are paid, the actual base will be decided once a suitable candidate has been recruited. You will be part of the Children and Young People Healthy family Teams helping the health visitors, school nurses and children's Continence Team with others to deliver high quality healthcare to children and families in the community. Working in various settings, including client homes and clinics, you will be trained to a good level in both child development and the impact of continence problems on children and families. Supporting colleagues in different duties if or when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working as a team member, under the direction and delegation of the Continence Nurse Advisors the role will concentrate on the reviews of continence programmes and continence products provision which will be a large part of this role.
- Reviews may be carried out face to face, over the telephone, in a clinic setting, or in exceptional circumstances in the family home.
- There will also be online workshops delivered as part of this role.
- The role requires considerable travel between locations, so a full driving licence and the ability to travel between locations is essential.
- This is a community based post.
- You will work under the direction of the Nurses to a delegated workload, also having the ability to work independently much of the time and manage your caseload yourself, reporting or escalating any concerns or anomalies in a timely manner.
- You will have at minimum an understanding and awareness of child development, and also safeguarding.
- From time to time you may be called upon to support other colleagues within their role, for example delivery of the National Child Measurement Programme annually.
- You will have a comprehensive induction programme, and a friendly working environment with excellent opportunities.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
