You will become an expert clinician in wound care, palliative care, continence care and the care of patients with long term conditions. If you have the passion, drive, and ability to deliver high-quality care, we want you to join #TeamNottsHC. Join us as a Band 5 Staff Nurse, full-time, in a substantive position. Our service operates from 8am - 6pm, seven days a week, offering flexibility in working hours. An additional team of Nurses and HCA’s offer a robust, reactive evening and night Nursing team.

You will be responsible for providing skilled nursing care and will work flexibly supporting the team to deliver high quality integrated care. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be adaptable, reliable, resourceful and approachable. Providing integrated care following a holistic assessment which enables patients to be cared for in their own homes and clinic settings. You will facilitate the prevention of unnecessary hospital admission/re-admission by reducing the effects of ill health and disability and maximising the individual’s potential for independence.

A robust induction and competency-based development package will be provided. Newly qualified staff will be offered a preceptorship programme. #TeamNottsHC comprises over 11,000 dedicated colleagues who #MakeADifference every day. We deliver intellectual disability, mental health, community health, forensic, and offender healthcare services across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and South Yorkshire.

Our care is provided from over 200 sites, spanning community locations, acute settings, and secure environments, including prisons. We are one of the largest mental health and community Trusts in the East Midlands and one of Nottinghamshire's biggest employers. We also host national and regional services, such as the National High Secure Deaf Service and the Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Aspects of the role include:

  • To assess, plan, implement, promote and evaluate safe, creative and effective treatment plans in collaboration with the patient’s diverse needs, their carers and other professionals.
  • Deliver interventions that are evidence based.
  • Be responsible for the safe monitoring, management and administration of medication.
  • Work autonomously, building leadership skills and advanced clinical assessment skills.
  • You will build effective relationships with patients, their carers, family and colleagues across the MDT.
  • You will develop exceptional planning and organisational skills.
  • You will be able to analyse care and treatment provided, and develop sound clinical decision making.
  • You will be trained to deliver high quality care and develop knowledge in all areas including palliative care, leg ulcer management, acute and chronic wound care, understand bladder and bowel dysfunctions, provide supportive care to carers and family members.
  • You will delegate and support junior staff, building leadership skills.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
