We are currently seeking to recruit a Resilience Officer to join the Local Resilience Forum (LRF) secretariat team.

Jointly hosted by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and Nottinghamshire Police, we are looking for an outstanding team player who can work well across partners to deliver support to the LRF.

About the role

You will be supporting the Team Leader to deliver the workstreams of the LRF and support the LRF Executive and Working Groups, whilst driving improvement for the partnership and supporting the response to operational incidents.

You will have responsibility in the planning and administration of relevant workflows, supporting and delivering key projects and activities whilst being responsible for overseeing the development and evaluation of emergency protocols. You will also be communicating and raising the awareness of these to LRF partner agencies, delivering training across partner agencies and supporting the review of policies and practices across the LRF.

Working both independently and with team members in multiple LRF organisations, you will oversee the development and shaping of new initiatives to effectively deliver key workstreams of the LRF.

Daily activities will include working with LRF partners; researching and analysing a wide range of topics; writing reports and making recommendations based on this research; project delivery; developing initiatives for new ways of working, representing the LRF at local and regional multi-agency meetings, and delivering training to partners.

The role will also involve being on-call. Whilst on-call, you will be required to respond to a suitable work location within one hour of a request for support from any LRF partner for an incident, with a view of establishing, logging and supporting any Tactical Coordination Group (TCG) or Strategic Coordination Group (SCG) within a two-hour period.

About you

  • Ability to work effectively and drive innovation and improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills – We are looking for someone who can engage with people across all levels and organisations with the ability to present information clearly and effectively.
  • Experience and ability in providing debriefing and training to partners, implementing the learning gained from incidents.
  • A team worker who can also work independently to deliver workstreams to the required deadlines.
  • Possess integrity and honesty and be aligned to the Service’s Core Code of Ethics.
  • Take a flexible approach to work and have a valid and full driving licence – you will be expected to work across the County and also undertake some additional travel to regional and national meetings. Access to a pool vehicle will be available when required.
