Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service is looking for a motivated and analytical Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team. In this role, you will help drive performance improvement across the organisation by transforming data into meaningful insights. You’ll work on data warehousing, performance reporting and Power BI development to support decision‑making across the Service. This role is ideal for someone with strong numerical and statistical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for high‑quality data analysis. Key Responsibilities- Support the delivery and development of performance monitoring and management reporting.
- Develop, implement and maintain continuous performance improvement systems.
- Gather, analyse and interpret data, producing statistical trends, projections and insights.
- Prepare and present interactive management information reports for stakeholders.
- Conduct data quality checks and work with subject experts to resolve issues.
- Develop reporting for Strategic Management Teams and Fire Authority members.
- Provide training on performance systems and BI tools where required.
- Liaise with internal teams and external organisations to support benchmarking and organisational development.
- Contribute to the wider work of the Service Performance Team and maintain accurate documentation.
- Experience in data handling, including data collection, storage and analysis.
- Strong numerical and statistical skills with experience producing and interpreting numerical information and trends.
- Experience delivering management information or BI reporting to varied stakeholders.
- Good IT awareness, including competence with Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of SQL (T-SQL) and familiarity with tools such as Power BI, DAX, SSMS, SSIS, SSAS and data modelling.
- Strong communication skills and experience working collaboratively with partners and professionals.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, prioritise tasks and use initiative.
- Experience developing databases and data models.
- Knowledge of FOI, Data Protection, and equality-related legislation.
- Formal qualification in Computer Science or a related discipline (HND or above).
