As the Team Manager for Governing Body Services, you will lead a dedicated team that provides essential advice, guidance, and support to the governors of Local Authority Maintained schools. This pivotal role ensures that governors stay informed about key legislative and policy changes affecting governance. You will also keep senior Local Authority Officers updated on the challenges and opportunities faced by governing bodies throughout Nottinghamshire. We are looking for a self‑motivated and dynamic leader with a solid understanding of the education sector.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and Inspire: Manage and motivate a team to deliver high-quality support to school governors.
  • Stay Informed: Keep abreast of changes in legislation and policy that impact governance.
  • Communicate Effectively: Liaise with senior Local Authority Officers to share insights on governance challenges and opportunities.
  • Support Development: Provide guidance and training to governors, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed.
  • Promote Best Practices: Encourage the adoption of effective governance practices across schools.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant qualification at level 4 or above, such as in education, social care, child development, or family systems.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Knowledge of effective, evidence‑based practices in governance and education.
  • Familiarity with risk management and budget management principles.
  • Knowledge of Education Safeguarding
