As a Planning Archaeologist, you will play a vital role in preserving Nottinghamshire's archaeological heritage. This two-year position offers a rare opportunity to provide expert advice on development proposals and policies that impact our archaeological resource.
In this exciting role, you will:
- Advise on development proposals and planning policies affecting archaeology.
- Collaborate with planning teams, developers and other historic environment specialists, including Historic England.
- Ensure compliance with current legislation and national/local policies and guidance.
- Provide specialist advice, guidance and recommendations to protect Nottinghamshire's archaeological heritage.
- Engage with stakeholders and communities to promote understanding and awareness of the archaeology of Nottinghamshire.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A degree in archaeology or a related field.
- Experience in providing planning advice related to archaeology.
- Knowledge of British archaeology and current archaeological policies and practices.
- Proficiency in using IT applications, including Historic Environment Records.
