An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Advanced Social Work Practitioner within the Family Support & Safeguarding Team in Ashfield North, Nottinghamshire. This dynamic team comprises experienced social workers, family support staff, and specialists in domestic abuse and substance misuse. In this role, you will manage a small caseload of children facing complex family circumstances while supporting colleagues in developing their skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing Caseloads: Oversee a small number of children with complex needs.
- Supporting Colleagues: Mentor and guide staff in assessment, analysis, and risk management.
- Supervising Staff: Provide supervision for alternatively qualified staff and apprentices.
- Contributing to Supervision: Engage in reflective and group supervision sessions.
- Court Work: Participate in court proceedings and pre‑proceedings work.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years’ post‑qualifying experience in children’s social care.
- Experience in mentoring or supervising others.
- A strong understanding of child protection, child in need, and looked‑after children processes.
- A relevant social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
