The Children and Families Department takes a strengths‑based approach to working with children, young people and families, and partner agencies. Role Purpose
As the Team Manager, you will lead, manage and motivate a dynamic team of experienced staff and newly qualified workers, improving children’s outcomes and ensuring their safety. You will demonstrate expert practice in complex situations and make informed decisions at higher levels of risk.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the team to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
- Build effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and families.
- Supervise and appraise team members to foster professional growth.
- Use analytical skills to assess and manage risks effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Advocate for the needs of Looked After Children and Care Leavers in a strengths‑based manner.
Qualifications
- Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- At least 2 years post‑qualifying experience working with children and families in the statutory sector.
- Experience with Looked After Children and knowledge of Leaving Care.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
