Make a Real Impact in Public Service
Are you a skilled solicitor or barrister with expertise in Commercial Property or Planning Law? Are you ready for a new challenge where your legal skills can help the Council to make a real impact. If so, we have an opening for a Senior Solicitor to lead and manage a team of Property, Planning & Highways legal advisors. This is a full-time, permanent role which will be hybrid working with some office attendance, as the job requires.
About the Role
As well as managing a team of legal professionals, you will be the go-to expert in either commercial property or planning law. Your expertise will help us navigate complex legal landscapes and make informed decisions, while having the chance to work on meaningful and high- impact projects. You will work closely with our service clients, senior officers, and our elected members on some challenging and exciting projects.

Who We\’re Looking For
We\’re looking for an experienced solicitor or barrister with strong experience in:
Commercial property including sale and purchase of land, complex leases and land development and regeneration deals and/or
Planning, including s.106 agreements and CIL, planning law and policy, reviewing and advising on planning conditions, planning enforcement, attending and advising at planning committee, ideally including knowledge of minerals and waste planning matters.
Previous management experience is a bonus but not essential (we\’ll support your development).
