Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Residential Social Care Worker to join our dedicated team at Caudwell House. Caudwell House is a children’s disabilities home in Southwell, Nottinghamshire. We provide high‑quality care and support for children with physical disabilities and medical/health needs, offering them fun, safe, and enriching experiences while giving families valuable respite.

Our vision is simple: to create a place where children feel safe, loved, healthy, and happy. We focus on building trusted relationships, supporting individual needs, and celebrating every child’s achievements.

In this role, you will support vulnerable children, ensuring their physical, emotional and health care needs are met. You will be part of a warm and nurturing team that values every member.

Responsibilities

  • Providing high‑quality care and support to children with significant disabilities.
  • Meeting the physical, emotional, and health care needs of the children.
  • Engaging in activities that promote their development and well‑being.
  • Working collaboratively with team members to create a safe and supportive environment.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to care plans.
  • Participating in shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.

  • Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting or school.
  • Experience supporting children or adults with learning difficulties.

Working Hours & Benefits

  • Early shifts: 6:30/7 am – 3:00 pm
  • Late shifts: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
  • A rota system, working two weekends out of three

We offer generous enhancements for shift work, including additional pay for hours worked after 8 pm, weekends, and bank holidays. This can significantly increase your annual earnings.
