The Maximising Independence Service (MIS) is a service area within the Adult Social Care department, which is focused on early resolution, prevention and promoting independence and wellbeing. The aim of the service is to help people to maximise their independence by providing information, advice and guidance, setting short-term goals and identifying support to achieve those goals.

We are recruiting a proactive and dynamic individual to join our service as a Reablement Manager in the MIS Mid Notts Reablement Team (START).

Do your values match ours? We think it is important to:

  • Promote the principles of choice and control
  • Take a personalised approach to supporting people
  • Provide care and support with dignity and respect
  • Take pride in the quality of the work we do

We pride ourselves in providing high levels of customer service in order to achieve positive outcomes and quality services for people accessing Reablement. Reablement Managers are key, skilled staff responsible for the operational management of the Short Term Assessment and Reablement Team (START) in line with national and local standards and performance, and the line management of its Reablement staff group. Reablement Managers oversee all incoming work, the efficient and effective use of the e-scheduler, care standards, staff induction, training, and HR processes.

You may also be required to attend the Transfer of Care hub within Kings Mill Hospital to be part of the decision on patient discharge. This role is vital in ensuring that this registered service meets the key standards required by the Care Quality Commission – being safe, responsive, effective, caring and well led.

To help us achieve our aim, we’re looking for someone who has the right skills, knowledge and above all else, who can make a positive contribution to the service, with a can-do attitude. In return, you will be supported through supervision both formally and informally to develop your skills, build expertise and take advantage of the extensive training opportunities to advance your career within the service and the Council. This will be an excellent opportunity for any staff who wish to expand their existing social care skills and take on a key management role.

If this is you then we would love to hear from you! It is expected that you have or are willing to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Adult Social Care.

If you require any further information or wish to discuss the role, please contact Team Manager - Nicola Vincent on 0115 8042009.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks. Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation. Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
