We're excited to be launching our third NCC Mockingbird constellation this autumn, and we're looking for an enthusiastic and committed Supervising Social Worker to join us as our new Liaison Social Worker. This new constellation will be based in Newark and the surrounding areas and already has a number of foster carers and home hub carer ready to launch!
The Liaison Worker will support and supervise the hub home carer and up to ten fostering families. The role may include working on a weekend day to participate in monthly constellation activities - past events have included alpaca walking, pumpkin picking, and pizza making! A day off in lieu is taken if the SSW attends the activity.
Full-time workers will be expected to support other areas of the wider fostering service where needed to make up the remaining hours. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team and play a key role in building a safe and nurturing community for our foster carers and young people.
Across D2N2 we now have 6 constellations with a further 2 to be launched this year. Everyone attached to the constellations will tell you what a positive impact being part of mockingbird has had. A number of carers have now identified they would have left fostering without the support of mockingbird, and we have seen our young people build friendships and grow in confidence. Join us and be part of this exciting project!
