An exciting opportunity has arisen on a permanent contract to join Payroll Services. As part of the Business Services Centre, you will undertake payroll administration carried out on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council departments, Schools/Academies, Pensions, and external clients in a timely and accurate manner.

The job role will include actioning new starters, leavers, and contractual variations on to the payroll system. Other tasks will include the production of contracts, maternity administration, and responding to general pay queries. An understanding of Payroll calculations including Tax, National Insurance, and Pension contributions is desirable but not essential; full training will be given.

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, you must be organised, with good customer service skills, and have a positive and flexible approach to teamwork. Good communication, literacy, and numeracy skills are essential, as is knowledge of computerised/manual systems and business processes. You must be able to work to deadlines in a logical and methodical manner, using your own initiative and be able to follow agreed procedures and guidelines, consistently achieving a high level of accuracy. An understanding of Data Protection and the boundaries of confidentiality is essential.
