As an Accounts Payable Senior Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in managing the daily operations of our Accounts Payable (AP) team, leading on payment processing and master data maintenance. Your leadership will ensure that payments to vendors and service users are processed efficiently and effectively, all while adhering to our policies and procedures. The post holder will also represent Accounts Payable in an exciting project to migrate to our new financial system.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the Accounts Payable team, ensuring smooth operations and timely payments
- Manage staff performance, identifying training needs and fostering professional growth
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures to protect the authority's assets
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with various departments to promote the AP function and build positive working relationships
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Maths and English to minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent
- Experience in accounts payable or a similar financial transactional role
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance
- Experience of managing and developing people
