Job Summary

At The Big House, a short break home located in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, we are seeking a compassionate and committed Night Care Worker. The role involves ensuring the safety and well‑being of children and young people during night hours through supportive care, responding to emotional and physical needs, and maintaining a safe environment. You will perform regular checks, monitor security systems, and carry out domestic duties to meet the needs of the home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal and intimate care to children, ensuring their comfort and dignity throughout the night and helping them prepare for the day.
  • Administer medication and carry out health‑care procedures as required.
  • Monitor the well‑being of children throughout the night and respond promptly to their needs.
  • Collaborate with the care team to maintain the highest standards of care during night shifts.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in a care setting, particularly with children or individuals with disabilities.
  • Understanding of personal care needs and health‑care procedures.
  • Ability to follow care plans and guidelines accurately.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children and families.

Additional Information

This role follows a two‑week rolling rota, with shifts from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Shift work will include additional pay for hours between 8 PM and 6 AM, weekends, and bank holidays. A full induction and ongoing training will be provided to support your development.

Hiring Information

Salary: £25,583 – £26,403 per annum

Type of vacancy: Permanent

Work pattern: Full Time, including some weekends
