Join us - make a difference - start something new. Clayfields House is a secure children's home run by Nottinghamshire County Council. We care for up to 20 young people between 10 and 18 years who come to us from all over England and Wales. Young people are placed with us either on youth justice grounds for criminal matters or for welfare reasons because they are seriously unsafe in the community. Nearly always our young people have had a very difficult care history and lots of traumatic experiences.

We provide full time secure care, education, risk reduction programmes and physical and mental health services on site. We help these very vulnerable but also very complex and challenging young people turn their lives around. Our staff are very dedicated, skilled and resilient. The work isn't easy, however the personal rewards for staff are great. There really is nothing like knowing that you are part of helping some of the most complex young people in the country achieve positive change in their lives against all the odds.

We are looking for a Mechanics Instructor to join our Education Department in our Vocational Centre. You will be joining a committed and highly skilled wider multi-disciplinary team in the centre and will benefit from our detailed staff induction and career development opportunities. You will need to be highly organised, flexible and unruffled by a rapidly changing environment.
