We are seeking a dedicated Business Support Assistant to join our Business Support and SEND Funding Service. This is a vital role working alongside education colleagues who are responsible for processing funding for children who qualify for High Level funding as well as helping to meet all legislative requirements around this work.
About the Role
As a Business Support Assistant, you'll play a key part in ensuring that SEND funding is processed and paid in a timely manner, along with ensuring that the services run smoothly. You will:
- Act as the contact point for key professionals in respect of agreed panels
- Respond to enquiries from schools and colleagues
- Ensure discussions, decisions and outcomes are recorded in relation to identified panels/meetings
- Maintain and update agreed databases
- Provide data analysis as required
- Support in keeping accurate records
- Support with timely progression of payments to schools
- Be competent with IT, including Microsoft Excel
- Participate in regular supervision
- Have regard at all times for the confidential nature of the work and not discuss or disclose information to unauthorised parties
- Contribute to service development and efficiencies as appropriate
- Undertake a full range of financial management processes, including resolving issues, supporting budget monitoring and reporting, and reconciling accounts
This role requires excellent organisation, a proactive approach, and strong relationships with schools and colleagues.

Experience
- Experience of data management including manipulating large data sets and producing complex reports ensuring accuracy and where appropriate
- Experience of providing high level business support in a busy environment
- Ability to accurately record information in a timely manner
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience building professional relationships with schools and colleagues
- Ideally will have experience of financial processes and providing financial data and reports
