Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Assistant Care Manager at Caudwell House, a children’s disability home located in Southwell. We are seeking a resilient and dynamic individual to join our proactive and skilled management team. In this role, you will provide effective support to the Registered Manager, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care for children with physical disabilities and medical/health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Registered Manager in developing and implementing the home\’s philosophy.
  • Assisting in the development of services for children and their families.
  • Participating in the review of service effectiveness, quality, and equality.
  • Providing direct support to staff and children.
  • Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence.
  • Engaging in various managerial tasks within a rewarding yet challenging environment.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in residential childcare.
  • A qualification at NVQ Level 3 (Children and Young People/Health and Social Care/Diploma) or equivalent, plus one year of post-qualifying experience.
  • Evidence of regular training experiences and a willingness to undertake a management qualification.

Soft Skills

  • A passion for working with children and a genuine understanding of the challenges they and their families face.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and support staff effectively.
  • The ability to build positive relationships and safeguard children from harm.
  • A commitment to enabling children to achieve positive outcomes and providing enjoyable experiences through various activities.

Working Hours And Benefits

The working hours for this position are varied, including weekends, bank holidays, mornings, and evenings, with participation in the on-call duty system.
