Are you a values-driven leader with a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Nottinghamshire County Council’s Statutory SEND Service is seeking a dynamic Advanced Practitioner to join our expanding and ambitious service. Established in response to the SEND Reforms of 2014, our Statutory 0-25 SEND Service brings together a range of statutory and regulated education and social care services to deliver a coordinated, child and young person-centred approach. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team within a service responsible for progressing Education Health Care Needs Assessments (EHCNA) and maintaining all Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children and young people with SEND.

What We’re Looking For

  • Have in-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, particularly the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Provide advanced professional leadership, mentoring, and support with quality assurance across the EHC Assessment Team.
  • Be comfortable with leading and supporting complex EHC casework, including mediations, tribunals, and complaints.
  • Support and develop staff capability through coaching and reflective supervision.
  • Drive continuous improvement in EHC processes, ensuring compliance, quality, and positive outcomes.
