Job description
The appointee, in collaboration with other Consultants, will be expected to fulfill the following duties within the agreed Job Plan:
- To provide a comprehensive Virology service, including full clinical liaison, to:
- Clinical services within Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
- General Practitioners and other healthcare providers in the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System.
- Other users of the Microbiology service as per Service Level Agreement.
Person specification
Training & Qualifications
- Full GMC registration, eligible for the Specialist Register or CCT in Microbiology (or expected within 6 months).
- Full/specialist registration with GMC (or eligible within six months).
- UK-trained applicants: CCT or within six months of award; non-UK trained: evidence of equivalence.
- Clinical Scientist: HCPC registration and PhD in relevant area.
- FRCPath in Virology or equivalent.
- Active CPD participation.
Clinical Skills/Experience
- Technical and clinical skills as described in the job description.
- Effective communication with patients, families, and health professionals.
- Experience in multidisciplinary infection teams.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
