Overview
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to appoint a Locum Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist for a 12 month fixed term contract.
The department provides adult and paediatric neurophysiology services to 4,500 patients per year, including in adult, neonatal and paediatric critical care units.
Responsibilities
- Undertake a range of peripheral neurophysiological investigations on adult and paediatric patients including single fibre EMG.
- Report a range of electroencephalographic studies including ambulatory and long term monitoring studies.
- Support spinal intraoperative monitoring service, paediatric polysomnography practice and cerebral function monitoring on intensive care units.
- On call one in four weekends (0900-1700), including bank holidays to report urgent EEGs; EEG reporting can be performed remotely.
- Travel between sites for clinical, administrative and training functions as required; travel will be job planned and compensated per Trust policy.
- Attend annual job planning sessions, appraisal and support for revalidation processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience of paediatric neurophysiology and paediatric peripheral neurophysiology is advantageous.
Commitment to training and support is required.
Training & CPD
- 2.5 PAs available for mandatory training, appraisal, CPD, audit, governance, job planning and teaching and training.
- 1.0 SPA specifically for support of consultant and trainee consultant scientists.
- Trust supports continuing professional development as laid down by GMC and medical colleges.
