This is a fixed-term post for 6 months, with potential for extension. Applicants should have full GMC registration and at least three years of experience in Anaesthesia. The role is ideal for those in Core or Specialty (Stage 1 and Stage 2) Anaesthesia training, including those yet to pass the Primary FRCA. It is also suitable for experienced Anaesthetists seeking additional clinical exposure and portfolio enhancement before entering Specialty Training at ST4+. The successful candidate will join a busy, supportive department, providing anaesthesia across various specialties and participating in rotas covering Anaesthesia, Enhanced Perioperative Care (EPOC), Obstetrics, and Critical Care, which may be scheduled in blocks. Please note, this post adheres to Trust-specific pay scales and terms, independent of the 2016 doctors in training terms and conditions. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the delivery of a high-quality 24-hour Anaesthetic service, including out-of-hours rotas covering EPOC, Obstetrics, Critical Care, and General Anaesthesia duties. Nottingham City Hospital (NCH): Planned care, cardiac, thoracic, urology, cancer surgery, renal transplants. Clinical duties include standard Anaesthetic responsibilities for CT3+ level, with theatre work during the day and obstetric and emergency cover out of hours. Consultant cover is available at all times, with resident Anaesthetists at QMC supporting emergency workload. The successful candidate will report to a senior Consultant and have a designated Educational Supervisor. Responsibilities include: Participating in a 24-hour service rota, including Anaesthetics, EPOC, Critical Care, and Obstetric Anaesthesia. Providing internal cover during colleagues\’ leave and short-term sickness, with rotas compliant with EWTD standards. Maintaining a professional portfolio, engaging in supervision, and undergoing appraisal and learning planning. Adhering to GMC guidelines, Trust policies, and infection control principles.
