This post offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated physician to join our department as a Senior Clinical Fellow (SCF) specialising in Hypertension. This is a full-time, fixed-term position designed for doctors at Post IMT/ST3+ level or equivalent who wish to gain focused experience in the assessment and management of hypertensive disorders within a supportive environment. The primary focus of the role involves managing new patients referred to the specialist hypertension outpatient clinics, working under consultant supervision.

The Diabetes and Endocrine department at Nottingham University Hospitals provides a comprehensive range of services for patients. The Hypertension service is a core component of the department, managing referrals from primary care and other secondary care specialties. It comprises specialist outpatient clinics focused on the management of complex, resistant, and secondary hypertension, supported by a dedicated team including Consultant Physicians, Specialist Nurses, and Pharmacists.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will have valuable opportunities to engage with the Trust’s Adrenal Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), gaining exposure to the investigation and management of secondary causes of hypertension. This post provides an excellent platform for career development for individuals aspiring towards a specialist career in Cardiology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Hypertension or related fields.
