As a Stage Door Keeper, you'll be the welcoming face of Nottingham Playhouse for artists, staff, visiting companies and contractors. You'll play a vital role in keeping our building safe, secure and running smoothly, while helping to create an exceptional experience for everyone who comes through our Stage Door.
About the Role
The Stage Door is the operational heart of Nottingham Playhouse. Working as part of our Facilities & Buildings team, you'll be responsible for welcoming visitors, maintaining building security, coordinating communications and supporting the day-to-day operation of one of the UK's leading producing theatres.
Key responsibilities include:
- Welcoming staff, visiting companies, contractors and guests to Nottingham Playhouse.
- Managing the Stage Door reception, telephone, email inbox and tannoy system.
- Maintaining secure access to the building through visitor management, keys, fobs and company vehicle procedures.
- Monitoring CCTV and reporting any security or safety concerns promptly.
- Supporting the Facilities & Buildings team with compliance checks, including First Aid equipment and defibrillator audits.
- Receiving and distributing deliveries across the organisation.
- Assisting with fire safety procedures, alarm testing and emergency arrangements.
- Carrying out opening and closing procedures when required.
- Maintaining a professional, tidy and welcoming Stage Door environment at all times.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys helping people and takes pride in delivering excellent service. You'll be someone who:

- Remains calm and professional in a busy environment.
- Is organised and able to prioritise a variety of tasks.
- Can work independently while being part of a wider team.
- Demonstrates good attention to detail and follows procedures carefully.
- Is comfortable using email, telephones and basic IT systems.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality, security and health and safety.
- Is flexible and available to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays as required.
Experience within a customer service, reception, security or facilities environment would be beneficial, although training will be provided for the right candidate.

Terms
- Salary: £12.71 per hour
- Contract: Casual, zero-hours
- Hours: Shifts offered as required via RotaCloud. Due to the nature of the role, evening, weekend and Bank Holiday working will be required.
- Location: Nottingham Playhouse
