Nottingham High School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced LAMDA Coordinator/Teacher to lead and develop our thriving LAMDA programme. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire pupils across a range of age groups, helping them to develop confidence, communication skills, public speaking abilities, and performance techniques through the prestigious London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examinations.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivery of lessons for each student in preparation for their nominated LAMDA exam grade in either: Acting; Speaking in Public or Speaking Verse and Prose.
  • Dividing teaching responsibility between yourself and a potential second LAMDA Teacher.
  • Planning and preparation of materials for the 'Knowledge' section of each examination.
  • Communicating effectively with the Head of Drama, other LAMDA Teacher/s, parents, students, Tutors, Student Services and the Finance department.
  • Periodically reviewing teaching methods; keeping your own knowledge of subject expertise up to date and participating in arrangements for further training and professional development.
  • Completing all administrative tasks required by LAMDA to arrange private centre examinations.
  • Coordination with relevant departments within the High School, such as Finance and Student Services, to ensure that examination fees are paid on time.
  • Practical management of examination sessions, requiring presence at the Centre (Nottingham High School).
  • Systematically recording student attendance and using this data to ensure students receive the correct number of lessons.
  • Reporting missed lessons to Head of Drama, appropriate Tutors, and Heads of Year.
  • Accurately following the LAMDA syllabus in order for students to achieve excellent results in LAMDA examinations.
  • Coordinating with the Head of Drama and the Drama Technician regarding location of lessons, student absence or any other concerns.
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties.
