The role combines hands‑on delivery with commercial accountability, requiring the individual to lead procurement activity from initial requirement through to contract award and ongoing supplier performance management. Working closely with the Procurement Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring procurement activity is delivered efficiently, compliantly, and in line with the Club’s strategic objectives. The role will also contribute to driving value through structured sourcing, effective negotiation, and continuous improvement of procurement practices across the Club.

  • Lead sourcing and tender processes, including development of specifications, supplier engagement, bid evaluation, and award recommendations, ensuring structured and transparent procurement activity.
  • Establish and manage supplier relationships within allocated categories, driving performance, resolving issues, and ensuring consistent delivery against agreed service standards.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and contract agreements, ensuring favourable outcomes for the Club while maintaining compliance with legal and governance requirements.
  • Deliver measurable cost savings and value improvements, identifying opportunities through proactive spend analysis, market engagement, and competitive sourcing.
  • Manage supplier performance proactively, monitoring KPIs and SLAs, addressing underperformance, and driving continuous improvement across the supply base.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across the Club, providing commercial guidance, shaping procurement requirements, and supporting delivery of project and operational needs.
  • Ensure all procurement activity is conducted in line with established policies, processes, and governance frameworks, maintaining a clear and auditable procurement trail.
  • Support wider procurement initiatives and strategic objectives, contributing to continuous improvement of procurement practices and supporting the Procurement Manager on key projects where required.
