Role Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee general building maintenance across the club’s facilities, including The City Ground and Training Ground. Responsibilities include routine upkeep, repairs, and leading a small maintenance team and contractors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance work, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with safety standards. Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Supervisor will support team performance and maintain a positive work environment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a small multi-skilled maintenance team.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and maintain team morale.
  • Conduct routine inspections and repairs (e.g., mechanical systems, alarms, manual repairs like carpentry and painting).
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain tools, record maintenance activities, and manage stock levels.
  • Identify and address recurring maintenance issues.
  • Flexibility and willingness to undertake additional duties as required.
  • Participation in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Undertake any other tasks deemed reasonable within your skill set and role.

This is a 5 out of 7-day role. You will be required to work on weekend and evening matchdays.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge

  • Supervisory experience with strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., electrical or plumbing certification).
  • Previous electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance experience.
  • Experience in planning and carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing a multi-skilled maintenance team.
  • Experience working within health and safety regulations and ensuring compliance.
  • Ability to resolve team conflicts and motivate staff.
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable).
