Contract: Casual, Zero Hour Contract

Location: The City Ground, Nottingham, NG2 5FJ AND The Nigel Doughty Academy, Nottingham, NG2 7SR

Working Arrangements: On site

Nottingham Forest Football Club are looking to appoint a qualified doctor with the relevant pitch side football qualifications to join as the Match Day Doctor for the remainder of the 2025/2026 season and beyond. When required the role will include match day attendance for Women’s first team games, U21 academy games, U18 Academy games, Women’s home Netball matches and Tunnel Attendance during Men’s First Team home games. Matches may be held on any day of the week subject to fixture list and will be held at various locations including away games across the UK.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Pre-match extrication practice
  • Conducting Head Injury Assessments (HIAs) protocols during and after matches
  • Assisting the medical team in the extrication of injured players from the field
  • Blood injury management/suturing
  • Medical gas/medication administration
  • Supporting in injury triaging post-game
  • Understand and comply with the Anti-Doping Regulations and WADA List of Prohibited Substances & Methods
  • Maintain accurate records of any medical interactions with players and staff and associated use of electronic notes system
  • Possess excellent knowledge of sports and exercise medicine and strong clinical assessment skills
  • Understand, comply and lead on implementation of best medical practice protocols, including the club’s Emergency Action Plans
  • Assist in the stock management and checking of medication/equipment on match days

Skills, Experience and Knowledge

  • License to practice by the GMC
  • Demonstrate ongoing engagement with appraisal and relevant CPD
  • Hold a valid Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF), or be enrolled on an upcoming course
  • Diploma in Sports Medicine or equivalent higher professional qualification (Desirable)
