An exciting opportunity has arisen for x2 undergraduate students to join the Nottingham Forest academy on a performance analysis work placement for the duration of the 2026/27 season. The role will involve working as part of the academy analysis department to facilitate the development of knowledge, understanding and professional skills through workplace learning. The roles will primarily focus on supporting the analysis and coaching staff with the delivery of the academy analysis programme, requiring a hard-working individual, who is able to work with a high level of detail and accuracy, whilst being comfortable with operating in a fast-paced, modern environment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Process & produce content based on the needs of the club.
- Support the full-time analysis staff in the delivery of the U9 – U14 analysis programme.
- Support and aid in the delivery of our coach development programme.
- Capture footage of academy games & training.
- Ensure matches are clipped accurately.
- Support the collation of movie organisers for key players.
- Support content management on club storage systems.
- Clip matches & training accurately & effectively.
- Collate movie organisers and database for opposition teams and individuals.
- Create high quality videos and presentations.
- Aid in producing statistical insights from academy fixtures and training sessions.
- Communicate with coaching staff and players.
- Build and maintain a library of best practice from games and training.
- Produce coach development dashboards as part of our coaching CPD programme.
The Candidate:
- Proficient on Excel, Keynote and Powerpoint.
- Knowledge of key analysis software.
- Analysis / football background.
- Appreciation of data, including the ability and desire to collect, deliver and implement it.
- Deliver a high standard of work whilst working towards deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to see work through to its conclusion.
- Ability to self-motivate and prioritise workloads.
- Full UK driving license.
General Information:
The candidate must keep up to date with new methods, and undertake any internal or external training sessions in association with the club. Due to the nature of the role, the candidate must be available to work evenings and weekends. Prior to starting, the successful candidate will have an enhanced DBS check which will be carried out by the club.
As part of the placement, the club will be able to support the candidate in any studies or research projects that they might be undertaking as part of their academic studies. These include, but aren't limited to:

- Examining a professional environment
- Independent research projects
