Education Assistant (Casual) in West Bridgford

Engagement: Casual position offering variable hours on a flexible basis.

Reporting to: Head of Education & Audit Co-ordinator.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• To work under the direct instruction of the Head of Education and Audit Co-ordinator to support the teaching and learning activities of all Academy players.
• Support with the delivery of the Academy Education Programme (Scholarship, Full Time Training Model and Hybrid Training Model) from an academic and administrative perspective.
• Planning and delivery of the BTEC Level 3 provision for the Academy.
• Assess and mark work in line with the BTEC Assessment plan set out by the Premier League.
• Support the Intervention programme to support learners who are not making expected progress on the BTEC Level 3 programme.
• Be the key point of contact for all education matters on the Full Time Training Model including delivery and coordination of education intervention sessions.
• Assist with the Co-ordination and delivery of the schoolboy hybrid education programme including liaison with schools of schoolboys in the 12-16 age groups.
• Liaise with schools to collect academic data every 12 weeks for players on both Part Time Training and Hybrid Training Models to track and monitor academic progress.
• Build new relationships/partnerships with schools, educational institutions and organisations that will enhance The Academy.
• Ensure all administration work is completed accurately and within the time scale set by the Head of Academy and/or Head of Education/Assistant Head of Education.
• Assist in creating a positive and purposeful learning environment for all learners.
• Assist in creating an inclusive and safe environment for all learners ensuring all have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
• Deal with any safeguarding issues that may arise by reporting them via Myconcern and to the Academy Safeguarding Manager.
• Participate in any CPD courses that are deemed relevant to your role.
• Lead on your CPD to ensure you are enhancing your development within the role.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with governing bodies and external stakeholders to help shape the external environment, maximise student development opportunities, through appropriate challenge and varied experiences.
• Ensure full adherence to safer recruitment practices and procedures across all Academy staff recruitment activities.
• Be accountable for maintaining and embedding Nottingham Forest’s values, standards, and behaviours across all Academy staff and players at all times.
• Ensure the effective use of the Football IP platform across the Education department, in line with established processes, expectations, and reporting requirements.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as required, demonstrating progress and outcomes against the Academy strategy.

What are we looking for:

• Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential for this role.
• Degree level education or equivalent essential.
• Knowledge and experience of delivery of a Core Subject (Desirable).
• Experience of Safeguarding/Safeguarding role desirable.
• Demonstrable experience of secondary education teaching along with successful completion of probation period.
• Experience of working in an elite sporting environment.
• Sound organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage own workload.
