About The Role
As a Support Worker at the Homelessness Prevention Service, you’ll work closely with a variety of organisations to help people maintain their tenancy or seek more permanent accommodation. This may include working with Social Care, Probation, other Housing providers, private landlords, Nottingham Priority Family’s Team, Leaving Care Team and numerous local body partners.
You could be supporting a single person, families, older people, and individuals who have experienced domestic abuse and mental health challenges. Your role will involve removing barriers, supporting users to explore available options in a person‑centred way, and managing your own caseload. You will provide vital face‑to‑face support or remote contact via telephone and email, liaise with partner organisations, and develop bespoke support packages and written support plans. Occasional support may be required at temporary accommodation projects such as Corporation Oaks and Linby Drive.

You will be confident in crisis situations, able to challenge organisations when necessary, and work collaboratively within a large team. A calm and collected attitude will allow you to respond confidently to crises as they arise.
