Are you an experienced Joiner who loves variety, takes pride in a quality finish and wants a role where your work genuinely improves people’s homes? Come and join NCHA’s Property Services team, where every day brings something new and every repair helps us deliver on our mission: More Homes, Great Services and Better Lives.
What the job looks like day‑to‑day:
You’ll be out and about across our communities, working in both occupied and empty homes to keep them safe, secure and well‑maintained. One day you might be repairing a lock or re‑hanging a door; the next, you could be fitting a kitchen, finishing a bathroom installation or delivering responsive joinery across several short jobs.
We have three pathways depending on your strengths:
- Windows, doors, glazing & general repairs – perfect if you’re confident troubleshooting locks, frames, hardware and small flooring or general joinery jobs.
- Kitchens, bathrooms & larger works – great for joiners who enjoy multi‑day projects, accurate setting‑out and a high‑quality finish.
- General domestic joinery (including supported housing) – ideal if you’re a dependable all‑rounder working across architraves, skirting, stair components, fencing or repairs in diverse homes, including those of vulnerable residents.
Whichever route you choose, you’ll use mobile job‑management tech, manage your van stock efficiently, and work independently while still being supported by a friendly, skilled team. Because residents often need more than pure joinery, you’ll also use your basic multi‑trade skills — a bit of tiling, patch plastering or simple plumbing — to keep jobs running smoothly without unnecessary delays.
What you’ll bring:
You’ll have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Carpentry/Joinery, strong domestic experience, and the professionalism to deliver a right‑first‑time service. You communicate clearly, work safely and respectfully in people’s homes, and take pride in doing a job well. A full UK driving licence (unless a disability precludes this) is essential. Experience in social housing or working with vulnerable people is a real advantage, but not a requirement — what matters most is your workmanship and your attitude.
Why you’ll love working with us:
This isn’t a job where you’re stuck in one place or doing the same thing every day. You’ll have freedom, variety and the satisfaction of knowing your work directly improves someone’s quality of life. You’ll be part of a team that values craftsmanship, reliability and kindness — and you’ll be supported with the tools, training and environment you need to do your best work.
Ready to build better homes — and better lives? If you want a role with purpose, pride and plenty of variety, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and help us deliver great homes and great experiences for our residents.
