Overview
As a Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprentice, you’ll be working in a small but busy community pharmacy. You’ll support the pharmacist and wider team in providing excellent customer service, safe handling of medicines, and smooth running of the pharmacy. This is a varied role where no two days are the same but you’ll be trained to develop your skills and confidence.
Responsibilities
- Greeting and assisting customers at the counter with advice and service.
- Supporting the sale of over-the-counter medicines under pharmacist supervision.
- Receiving prescriptions, checking details, and preparing items for collection.
- Assisting the pharmacist in the safe dispensing of medication.
- Ordering, receiving, and storing pharmaceutical stock correctly.
- Monitoring stock levels, replenishing shelves, and ensuring sales areas are clean and presentable.
- Learning how to use pharmacy IT systems for stock control, prescriptions, and record keeping.
- Processing customer payments, handling cash and card transactions.
