We are excited to offer a unique opportunity to join our Support Services Team as a Health Centre Manager. This part-time, fixed-term role covers maternity leave, with the working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate within the hours of 8.30 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. You will lead a team of reception and caretaking staff across four sites. Your leadership will directly contribute to the wellbeing of staff and patients, ensuring each site is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose. As Health Centre Manager, you will be the first point of contact for any staff or building issues.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring your team feels supported.
  • Handling sickness reporting.
  • Keeping supervision and training current.
  • Monitoring compliance.
  • Overseeing Health & Safety standards.
  • Reporting and monitoring faults.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Managing up to 5 busy Health Centres ensuring the sites are Health & Safety compliant.
  • Managing Clerical and Caretaking staff at various sites, including staff supervision, appraisals, sickness logging, and monitoring.
  • Ensuring operational effectiveness and adherence to quality standards and key performance indicators.
  • Budget responsibility, including administering and monitoring budgets.
  • Ensuring delivery of an effective service in line with local, national, and professional agendas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and managing the maintenance of the building and equipment.
  • Completing annual Building Risk Assessments.
  • Managing the reception area and clerical support.
  • Managing recruitment and selection of new team members.
  • Ensuring all essential training is completed by staff.
  • Managing sickness and absence reporting.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding all issues concerned within the service.
  • Employing communication skills to negotiate with GPs and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring effective Business Contingency Plans are in place.
  • Maintaining good budgetary control.

Experience required includes:

  • Working in a health or social care setting.
  • Engaging peers and managers through strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Using a range of IT packages.
  • Managing staff.
  • Multi-agency working.
  • Change management.
  • Risk assessment and management.
  • Information management.
  • Undertaking Audits.
  • Performance management.

Qualifications:

  • Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Business administration or equivalent level of training and experience.
  • ECDL or equivalent level of IT training and/or experience.

Salary: £32,073 to £39,043 a year pro rata for part time.
