Nottingham City GP Alliance is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic GP surgery teams across the Bilborough locality in Nottingham City. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients across a range of conditions, working autonomously and collaboratively with GPs and the wider practice team.
Main duties of the job:
- Undertake advanced clinical assessment.
- Independently diagnose, treat and manage patients.
- Provide same-day and pre-bookable appointments for minor illness, acute presentations and exacerbations of long-term conditions.
- Prescribe safely and effectively as an Independent Nurse Prescriber.
- Request, interpret and act upon investigations.
- Recognise and appropriately escalate patients whose needs exceed NP scope to a GP or relevant specialist.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and high-quality clinical records using the practice clinical system.
Nursing Leadership & Professional Practice:
- Act as a senior nursing clinician, role-modelling best practice and professional standards.
Quality, Governance & Safety:
- Work within clinical governance frameworks to support safe, effective and high-quality care.
Education & Continuous Professional Development:
- Maintain professional registration and revalidation with the NMC.
- Engage in regular clinical supervision (either peer review or with members of the medical team) and reflective practice.
Communication & Patient-Centred Care:
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers and colleagues, including discussion of diagnoses, treatment options and self-care.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Practice in accordance with the NMC Code and professional standards.
- Work within agreed scope of practice and recognise personal limitations.
Job location and contract:
Across 2 NCGPA practices - Bilborough MC and Grange Farm MC. Depending on experience £48,000 - £54,000. Contract Permanent. Working pattern Full-time.
